1. Create a Squarespace account and choose a template

Squarespace offers a 14-day free trial so you can begin constructing your website without incurring any costs. Simply head to squarespace.com to begin your free trial. You are not required to enter any information now. Simply click the "Get Started" button to proceed.

After clicking "Get Started," you will be asked to choose a design for your website. Since the template you choose will be the basis for your website's design: it's in your best interest to examine many before settling on one. 

Squarespace offers many great templates that can make it hard to settle on one. Here are our top tips to help you pick a template:

  • Choose from their online store templates –while Squarespace templates all support ecommerce stores it’s a good idea to specifically select from their “online store” category to get the most features.
  • Click the heart to 'favorite' templates you like–the platform will save the templates under the 'My Favorites' category for you to return to them with fresh eyes.
  • Just select one–don't stress out over picking the perfect template at this point because you can alter it to your liking later on.

Once you have selected your template: click on it to get started. Then create your account using your Google account, email, Apple, or Facebook. 

2. Add your site title and logo

The next step after creating your account is adding your site title and logo. After signing up, a pop-up should appear in which you must enter the title of your site and click the Continue button to proceed. Squarespace will then walk you through four additional steps. You can skip the steps immediately or keep clicking "Next."

You are now on the Squarespace dashboard. Before you can add your store's logo, you'll need to change the header. Click the "Edit" button in the editor's upper left corner. Move your cursor to the site's header and select "Edit site header." A toolbox will then pop up. Choose "site title and logo" and then upload the file with your logo. You can change the height of the logo after you've uploaded it.

3. Add necessary pages to your website

At this point, the homepage is all you have, but there are many more pages to a website than the homepage. Sections that provide helpful information on the variety of services you offer will increase the likelihood that visitors will become paying customers.
