Challenge
One photographer, eight divisions, endless demand
Weaver Leather had grown exponentially since 2020, but their content creation hadn't scaled with them. With a single in-house photographer covering all eight product divisions—from equine tack to livestock supplies—the company faced a severe bottleneck.
“The workload is just so much," explains Valerie McAfee, Digital Marketing Specialist at Weaver Leather. "He (Weaver’s in-house photographer) does all of our in-studio shots, but we also send him to all of our physical locations to get pictures with livestock, to get pictures with horses. With the demand, he just couldn't keep up."
The result? New products would get only a single main shot for their website—no Amazon listings, no detailed angles, no comprehensive product galleries that today's customers expect.

Solution
Virtual shoots with live collaboration
Weaver Leather partnered with soona to supplement their in-house photography with scalable virtual shoots. The key differentiators were soona's technical capabilities, allowing Weaver's team to join shoots in real-time and provide instant feedback and soona’s ability to scale shoots quickly with multiple photographers.
"Being able to watch the shoot live and make those tweaks was huge for us," says McAfee. "Especially with ours—we're very niche. If you're not used to dealing with horses every day, you're not quite sure how this product is set up."
The live collaboration feature proved invaluable for their specialized products. When soona photographers needed guidance on proper product setup, Weaver's 40-year veteran photographer could jump in the platform and provide real-time direction: "This is how we do it in our studio—it might help if you use this."

soona executed 80 products per week, increasing Weaver Leather’s content production by 1,500%.
Weaver also worked with soona to create detailed style guides for each division, ensuring consistent imagery across their entire product catalog. These guides became templates for future product launches, streamlining both internal processes and external shoots. soona’s technology allowed Weaver Leather to easily make selects and get retouched final assets quickly.
Custom Integration Success
Beyond photography, soona worked with Weaver Leather to create a custom integration with their Salsify platform. When images were uploaded, they automatically populated across Amazon parent and child SKUs for different sizes and lengths—eliminating hours of manual work for both teams.
"We were able to work with the soona team to actually create an integration. So when they uploaded it, it went into our Salsify platform. It took a significant chunk of time off both teams when it came to uploading those items."
Outcome
From single shots to complete product galleries
The partnership delivered immediate operational improvements:
Volume Scale: Instead of single product shots, Weaver Leather now captures 4-5 images per product, enabling comprehensive Amazon listings and detailed Shopify galleries.
Time Savings: What would have taken months to accomplish in-house was completed in weeks through soona's streamlined process.
Team Efficiency: The custom integration eliminated manual upload work, while live shoot monitoring reduced revision cycles.
Quality Consistency: Style guides ensure uniform imagery across all eight product divisions, from equine tack to livestock supplies.

"Instead of trying to take on everything in-house and how long that's going to take us, it was so easy to just pass this off," reflects McAfee. "In the future, we've even talked about when we're redoing whole categories, sending those off instead of trying to tackle them in-house and bog down our whole flow and system."
Where Weaver Uses Their Content:
- Shopify website
- Amazon product listings
- Print catalogs
- Social media advertising
- Product catalog imagery
The partnership proved that even highly specialized, niche products could benefit from remote photography—as long as the right collaboration tools and expertise were in place. For Weaver Leather, soona became more than a photography service; it became a scalable solution for sustainable growth.
"The team was great. They would answer right away. And just having that flexibility of watching those shoots and being able to hear feedback—having that open communication—it was so nice."
